With this report the Association of Danish Universities (Danske Universiteter) and Association of University Colleges (for teachers’ trainers) have joint forces to enlighten decision making and strengthen Technology Comprehension in K12 education in Denmark.
The report contains an Executive summary and three main parts each presenting a gap analysis of three development goals:
Each part of the report is structured as a gap analysis that contains three steps.
The first step is a mapping of research and education initiatives in Denmark from 2017 to July 2020 within K12 Technology Comprehension education. Some international experiences are described to bring perspective. Technology Comprehension competences are defined in the Governmental experiment on Technology Comprehension in Danish Schools as: Digital construction, design, empowerment and computational thinking. The second step is a description of the gap between the three goals and the current initiatives identified by research and field experts. And third is presentation of the recommendations and new initiatives suggested by same group of experts.
