PhD Defence: Educational Tools for Teaching Critical Computing Literacy
Please join the PhD defence, Tuesday, 21 March, Karl-Emil Kjær Bilstrup
During his PhD studies, Karl-Emil Kjær Bilstrup investigated how computational tools and educational activities for secondary education can be designed to prompt and scaffold critical reflection on computational technologies. Through combining theories from different research areas, designing prototypes of learning tools and activities, collaborating with teachers in co-design processes, and conducting classroom interventions and lab studies, he explores how complex computational concepts and practices can be taught in Scandinavian classrooms, where the autonomy of individuals, selfactualisation, and citizenships are important values.
The PhD study was completed at Department of Computer Science, Faculty of Natural Sciences, Aarhus University.
