For decades, technology has woven itself into our society—mostly for the better. It has connected the world, given us access to new knowledge, and enabled us to have a voice—even drowsily from the edge of our sofa.
But at the same time, the darker sides are piling up. Danish children and young people are glued to their screens, shaping their social lives 24/7—driven by the rhythms of Instagram and TikTok. Meanwhile, new AI tools have made it impossible to know whether a text, voice, or video is real or deeply manipulated.
More than ever, we must take our children's use of digital technologies seriously. This concerns not only their learning and well-being but also their future job opportunities across all sectors—from construction and transportation to healthcare and elder care. Soon, no one will be able to secure a job without the ability to navigate the ever-growing digital landscape.
