Technology Comprehension as a mandatory course in K9 education

Technology Comprehension as a mandatory course in K9 education

This project was a collaboration between The Danish Ministry of Education and the Center for Computational Thinking and Design at Aarhus University.

Denmark wanted to introduce Technology Comprehension as a mandatory course for all Danish K9 students. Technology Comprehension combines current research on Computational Thinking, Digital Design and Design processes to actively engage students in the design and understanding of digital technology. The curriculum was developed by an expert group led by Center for Computational Thinking and Design and implemented in 50 schools for the next three years (2019-2021).

The project outcome was a full curriculum including detailed descriptions of competences, skills and knowledge related to the subject matter. The curriculum is published on the Ministry of Education’s website.
